SEO Tips Galore!
No time for an in-depth newsletter this week because of the ebook publishing and writing tournament that’s going on over at InkwellEditorial.com. So, I did some surfing and came across this list of 55 SEO tips from SearchEngineLand.com. If you follow the advice listed, you may never need to come back here again (but I hope you will!).
Some of My Favorite SEO Tips from This List
#5: Be sure you have a unique, keyword focused Title tag on every page of your site. Treat every page of your site like it’s own unique little minisite — and optimize it accordingly.
#6: Fresh content can help improve your rankings. That’s because the more frequently you update your site, the more search engine spiders crawl it looking for the latest content. Don’t disappoint — upload more (Tip: Revise/update existing content if you happen to be short on ideas when you go to do a post).
#18: Don’t Keyword Stuff: Search engines look at how many times a term is in your content and if it is abnormally high, will count this against you rather than for you.
#26: Quality Counts! It’s not enough to have fresh content; it should be high quality content as well.
#30: .EDU links are loved by SE’s. I didn’t know this. Learn something new every day.
#32. Optimize for One Keyword Phrase Per Page: I try to tell clients this all the time. About half the time they listen.
#34: SEO is an “All the Time” Thing. It’s not a one-hit wonder, so you have to constantly be doing it. It’s what makes it fun, and a heck of a lot of work, all at the same time.
#52: Go Wide and Deep with Your Content Marketing Efforts. Something I need to do more of. Gotta get on that YouTube (video in general) bandwagon!
